What we do

St Gregory’s Foundation helps disabled children and teenagers with communication difficulties to connect to the world so they can become as independent as possible. We provide education, training and skills to graduates from orphanages to give them a good start in life. We empower children and families living with impaired hearing to take a full part in…

Where we work

St Gregory’s Foundation supports projects across Eastern Europe, and in particular in Călărași and Chișinău in Moldova, in Tbilisi in Georgia and in St Petersburg and Moscow in Russia. However, our work often has a wider impact as our partners pass their skills and expertise onto others. By using the power of the internet, we…

At Mkurnali, the Tbilisi homeless shelter we partner with, every effort is made to find suitable training or employment for the young people in their care. A little while ago, with the support of a friend of Mkurnali, their young men opened a small workshop and shop specialising in car-paint mixing. The business operated successfully for a short period, but they were later forced to leave the premises because of new regulations prohibiting the processing of products that release toxic substances into the air within residential areas.

Fortunately, the garage that Mkurali owns is far enough away from residential buildings for work to continue there within the regulations. Mkurnali are currently renovating the dilapidated garage. They hope to complete the work soon and restart operations in the near future. St Gregory's is helping to fund renovations. Let us know if you'd like to help.

We are proud to have helped sponsor the 7th Inclusive Ball organised by our partners, Fundația „Plaiul Soarelui” or Sunny Corner. This magnificent event brings together 80 young people with additional needs, their supporters, and 100 guests. These pictures powerfully challenge how people with Downs Syndrome and other learning disabilities are seen in Moldova.

This is Olya. She's now eight years old, but when she was younger she came to the Club we sponsor in St Petersburg for deaf children and their families. Olya now goes to mainstream school and is doing really well. Her younger brother is also deaf. You can find out how he's doing on our website. https://buff.ly/nhomaVB

We are really grateful to The Arts Society who will be donating packs of arts materials to children with special needs supported by our partners, Rain Kids, in Chișinău, Moldova. The gift came about after Richard and Tessa Elphick visited Rain Kids with a group of our supporters and were impressed by what they saw. Thank you!
